FAKRA Connectors
- FAKRA connectors(Fachkreis Automobil, a German standard) are SMB-based automotive-grade connectors that can operate up to 6 GHz. These connectors are embedded within a plastic housing with a locking feature with an audible clicking noise that lets you know a connection has been made. They are available in 14 different mechanical layouts which are color coded for easy identification and mismatching prevention.
- FAKRA connectors meet the mechanical and environmental requirements of the automotive industry. The worldwide automotive industry has standardized connectors based on the FAKRA and USCAR standards.
- They can apply to a variety of connections in automotive vehicles, with applications including SDARS, cellular telephony, GPS navigation, keyless entry, and satellite radio.

Perfect fit for my car’s GPS system. The purple D-coding makes it easy to identify, and the 90° right angle saves so much space on the PCB. Waterproof seal works great in rainy conditions too.

Good quality Fakra connector with solid locking click. Installed it for a backup camera upgrade. Only took a few cycles before slight play developed, but signal loss is still negligible at 5 GHz.
