The XIAO RP2040 is a compact, pre-soldered microcontroller development board powered by the Raspberry Pi RP2040. It combines dual-core processing, 2MB onboard Flash, 264KB SRAM and multiple peripheral interfaces in a 21 × 17.8mm form factor for education, robotics, wearable electronics, USB HID devices and embedded prototyping.
The Raspberry Pi RP2040 integrates two Arm Cortex-M0+ processor cores running at up to 133MHz. Combined with 264KB SRAM and 2MB onboard Flash, it supports embedded control, sensor acquisition, LED effects, USB applications and educational programming projects.
Pre-soldered headers allow the board to connect directly to breadboards, jumper wires and compatible expansion hardware. This configuration reduces setup time for classroom exercises, workshops, proof-of-concept development and hardware testing.
Eleven digital I/O pins with PWM support, four analog inputs and I²C, UART and SPI interfaces enable integration with sensors, displays, LED matrices, motor-control circuits, actuators and other embedded peripherals.
The board supports Arduino, PlatformIO, MicroPython, CircuitPython, TinyGo, Rust and Zephyr development workflows. This broad compatibility makes it suitable for beginners learning electronics and experienced developers creating compact embedded systems.
The 21 × 17.8mm form factor supports compatible expansion boards, displays, sensors and communication modules designed for the XIAO ecosystem. Expansion accessories and wireless modules are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
