The XIAO ESP32-S3 is a compact wireless microcontroller development board powered by the ESP32-S3R8 SoC. It combines a 240MHz dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 LE, 8MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM in a 21 × 17.8mm form factor. Dual-Core ESP32-S3 Processing

The ESP32-S3R8 integrates a 32-bit Xtensa LX7 dual-core processor operating at up to 240MHz. Combined with 8MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM, it provides processing and memory resources for wireless communication, sensor acquisition, automation, robotics and graphical embedded applications.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 LE Connectivity

The integrated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi subsystem supports connection to wireless networks, cloud platforms and local gateways. Bluetooth 5 LE and Bluetooth Mesh enable energy-efficient communication with mobile devices, sensors and compatible smart-device networks.

U.FL External Antenna Interface

The onboard U.FL connector supports the included compatible external 2.4GHz antenna. Flexible antenna placement can improve wireless reception and accommodate different product enclosures. Communication distance depends on the antenna, transmit settings, installation environment and surrounding obstacles.

Low-Power Battery Operation

The board accepts 5V input through USB Type-C or power from a compatible 3.7V rechargeable lithium battery. Integrated charging management and deep-sleep current as low as approximately 14μA under specified test conditions support portable sensors, wearable electronics and intermittently active IoT nodes.

GPIO and Peripheral Expansion

Eleven PWM-capable GPIOs, nine ADC channels, UART, I²C and SPI interfaces support integration with sensors, displays, actuators and communication peripherals. Pre-soldered headers allow immediate connection to breadboards and compatible expansion hardware.
