Brushed DC Motor Speed Controller Board

Provides stepless speed control for compatible 2-wire permanent-magnet and 4-wire field-wound brushed DC motors rated up to DC 220 V.

CONTROL FUNCTIONS

Stepless Speed Control with Output Limiting

Use the included external 4.7 kΩ, 2 W potentiometer to adjust motor speed. The board supports supplier-stated soft start and soft stop, and its onboard trimmer sets the maximum armature output-voltage range to help limit maximum motor speed.

SPEED POTENTIOMETER

Included 4.7 kΩ, 2 W Control

Connect the included three-terminal potentiometer to the controller's speed-adjustment terminals using three wires. Potentiometer connection wires are not included and must be supplied separately.

OUTPUT ADJUSTMENT

Set the Maximum Armature Output

With power disconnected, use a small screwdriver to adjust the onboard trimmer. Clockwise adjustment increases the maximum output-voltage range at M+ and M−; counterclockwise adjustment decreases it.

2-WIRE MOTOR CONNECTION

Permanent-Magnet Brushed DC Motors

Connect the single-phase AC 220 V supply to the power input, connect the two motor wires to the armature output, and connect the included potentiometer to the speed-control terminals with three user-supplied wires.

4-WIRE MOTOR CONNECTION

Field-Wound Brushed DC Motors

Identify the armature and field-winding pairs with a multimeter before wiring. The field pair normally has higher resistance. Connect each pair only to its corresponding controller output and verify all wiring before applying power.

Confirm that motor type, rated voltage, current, and power are within the controller limits. Maximum output current must not exceed 8 A, and motor power must not exceed 1000 W.
