3-CHANNEL GAS SENSOR MODULE: The CJMCU-6814 breakout uses a MiCS-6814 MEMS metal-oxide sensor with three independent sensing elements for reducing gases, oxidizing gases and ammonia-related response.

REGULATED 5 V OPERATION: Connect a regulated DC 4.9–5.1 V supply to the +5V and GND pads. The specified operating environment is -30 to 85°C and 5–95% RH; sensor readings vary with temperature, humidity, airflow and warm-up conditions.

THREE ANALOG CHANNELS: Separate CO, NH3 and NO2 pads provide analog resistance-derived signals for a host ADC or measurement circuit. Typical detectable ranges are CO 1–1000 ppm, NO2 0.05–10 ppm and NH3 1–500 ppm; calibration is required for concentration estimates.

COMPACT PURPLE BREAKOUT: The module measures approximately 16.9 x 14.1 x 3.2 mm and includes two M3 mounting holes. Its five through-hole connections are labeled CO, NH3, NO2, GND and +5V. Package includes 1 gas sensor module.

DEVELOPMENT AND MONITORING PROJECTS: Suitable for prototyping air-quality, exhaust, industrial-odor and agricultural-odor monitoring systems. Gas responses overlap, so this module is not a selective laboratory analyzer or a certified life-safety, fire or gas-alarm device.

SENSING STRUCTURE

Three Independent Metal-Oxide Elements

The MiCS-6814 package contains three independent heated sensing elements: one for oxidizing-gas response, one for reducing-gas response and one optimized for ammonia-related response. The module exposes these channels as CO, NO2 and NH3 analog connections for measurement by an external controller or ADC circuit.

CONNECTION AND MEASUREMENT

Read Each Analog Channel with a Host ADC

Supply regulated 5 V power through +5V and GND, then connect the CO, NH3 and NO2 signal pads to suitable analog inputs. The outputs reflect sensing-resistance changes rather than ready-calculated concentration values.

Allow the heated sensor to stabilize and establish application-specific baselines. Converting the signals into estimated ppm values requires calibration against known gas concentrations while accounting for temperature, humidity, airflow, sensor-to-sensor variation and cross-sensitivity.

APPLICATIONS

For Air-Quality and Odor-Monitoring Prototypes

The compact board can be integrated into development projects involving vehicle-exhaust trends, indoor or outdoor air-quality experiments, industrial odors, agricultural odors and multi-gas response logging. Use the individual channels as response indicators unless the complete system has been calibrated for the intended gases and environment.

Important Measurement LimitationThe stated ppm values are typical detectable ranges, not guaranteed accuracy specifications. The sensing channels are cross-sensitive and require warm-up, signal conditioning and calibration. Do not use this module as the sole basis for life-safety decisions or as a replacement for a certified CO, combustible-gas, fire or industrial safety alarm.
